I visited with my adult niece and we were really impressed with the venue, the service and the choice and quality of the food. We both felt we had experienced an excellent evening and had food presented in a different way, that was exceptional. We will be going back.

What a fantastic evening!
In the city there’s burger restaurants and fast food joints by the bucketful, then there’s the well known steakhouses. Daffodil fills the large gap in between very nicely. You could argue it outshines the higher end restaurants with its top end quality.
This brand new gastro-pub in the heart of Cardiff city centre (it used to be Bar 33) pays homage to local produce on a seasonal menu.
The welcome was warm and genuine, with lovely house wines and a full range of beers, spirits and cocktails to settle at your table with.
As for the food, absolutely stunning – the ham hock Welsh Scotch egg was one of the finest starters I’ve ever had. Belly pork with lovely trimmings for a main course followed by a coconut cheesecake which surpassed every other dessert by a country mile.
We most certainly will be regulars – I hear the Sunday roast is sublime – perhaps I can book in for that, and once word gets out you will have to book.

My partner and I visited at the end of last year, and can hands down say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Cardiff.
The lamb starter was just full of flavour, perfectly cooked and presented so beautifully. The duck fell off the bone, the scotch egg was like nothing else I’ve ever tried before!
The staff were all very friendly and couldn’t be more attentive.
The drinks were equally as outstanding. Alex the manager made the perfect wine recommendation pairing to our mains, and as a treat at the end we opted for espresso martinis that were just the right mix of strong espresso and sweet sugar!
We will absolutely be back!

What a rare find, we dined here for my Birthday and what a treat it was, the staff were very attentive and the food was beautiful. We were treated to locally sourced produce including chorizo and cenarth cheese, Welsh lamb rack and cherry bakewell crème brûlée (yum)

I entered the restaurant into a lovely relaxed atmosphere with a comfortable setting and scene instantly setting a great evening. Once sat at our table we were welcomed by a lovely host efficiently getting our food and drink. I highly recommend the lamb rack as it was a very tender piece and really made me feel at home as it was a proper welshy dish. Followed by a marshmallow and coconut cheesecake which was exquisite. I also recommend the scotch eggs as they were THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. Wonderful experience couldn’t recommend more.

Wow heard such great reviews about this place and found out it has only been open since December 2021. Definitely worth a visit great food staff and atmosphere.
If your looking for a place after shopping or a romantic meal out this place is a definite go to.

I’m not usually one to post lots of reviews unless a place really stands out to me. Which is exactly what daffodil did. Loved everything about it, the service was excellent and the food was one of the best meals I’ve had, the venue is also beautiful and there was a lovely atmosphere even on a quiet January evening!
I would recommend the duck leg and the chocolate torte!
I have already booked in to take my mum for Sunday lunch next month, can’t wait!
